Last week some things in my life sort of felt like they were imploding, so I failed to post sermon number three here. It was a sermon about humility. I did share it on Facebook, but couldn’t find time to write up a post here. Sorry about that.
On to sermon four: Love. And just in time for Valentine’s Day too!
This message by Dr. John MacArthur examines the essential Christian trait of love. This is one of many commands in scripture for us. For example, Ephesians 5:1 says, “Therefore be imitators of God as beloved children and walk in love.”
He contrasts the world’s butchered and distorted ideas of what love is to the love of Christ — and therefore the kind of love we as Christians should exemplify: Unselfish and sacrificial love, like the love our Savior demonstrated by sacrificing himself for our sins.
